When my life was fainting away,
I remembered the Lord,
and my prayer came to you,
into your holy temple.
Those who pay regard to vain idols
forsake their hope of steadfast love.
But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the Lord!”
-Jonah 2:7-9

An American Stephen...Christians should remember the early church as they respond to the murder of Charlie Kirk And so let us pray as the early church did when they met with opposition and evil. “And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness” (Acts 4:29). The death of Christ, the martyrdom of Stephen, the assassination of Charlie—all of these are in the hand of God, and He is the one telling this story.
And we must not miss one more detail in the story. When Stephen was martyred, a man named Saul stood by approving. Witnessing the reaction from the left to the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk, we are rightly disturbed and angered by the celebrations and the approval. But we must take our anger to the Lord. Perhaps there are, even among the wicked, more Sauls heading for their own Damascus Road.
The blood of martyrs is the seed of the church.
May the blood of Charlie Kirk be the seed of reformation and revival in our nation.

CHARLIE Kirk sent those words of St Paul in a text message to a friend the day before he was murdered in public.
“ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Off Air for Charlie Kirk Comments”
There’s no point rehashing Kirk’s qualities or listing his achievements. Others who knew him have provided rich, poignant testimony to his stellar character and unshakable dedication to his faith and freedom. His very public record is testament enough.
If you sift through the haters’ postings, you’ll think they inhabit an alternative universe. Abundant public record be damned. For them, Kirk was an ogre, some mythical beast. He checked off every box that inflames the leftist mind. Homophobe, transphobe, this-phobe, that-phobe. They fictionalized Kirk. Damn reality, too!
These posts were widely condemned. And no wonder – Abaraonye had actually met and debated Kirk at the Oxford Union. To respond so callously to his murder reflects very badly on him. But the controversy hasn’t just shed light on this particular president-elect’s lack of decency and moral judgement – it has also focussed attention on the Oxford Union as an institution.

Today's kids face a different reality.
"If all you do is sit inside on a computer, you're missing out on your childhood. That brings us to the Second Act of the tragedy, which I call the 'great rewiring of childhood.' Between 2010 and 2015, everything changes...you get higher video speeds, on-demand porn. You get everything in this little box...If you spend five to 10 hours on your device, there's a lot of things you're not doing...Sleep goes down, time with friends goes down, exercise goes down."
