“Let not your hearts be troubled. "

There will be no time
John 14:1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me."

In seasons of uncertainty and turmoil, we are being asked to make a deliberate decision. We are being asked to not allow our hearts to be troubled. The only way I know how to do that is to spend copious amounts of time with God so I can walk through hard times from a place of peace... and that peace will impact those directly around me. It starts with me. ...Katherine Walden image

Dwell in peace...

“Dwell in peace. Your feelings of devotion to God and your enthusiasm to serve Him do not depend on your own ability. The only thing that you can control at all is your will. Give God your will without reservation. The important question is not “Do I enjoy being a Christian?” but rather, “Do I want what God wants?” Confess your faults. Do not be too attached to things of this world. Trust God. Love Him more than yourself. Love His glory more than your life. If you do not want these things, ask to want them. God will come to you with His love, and put His peace in your heart.” ...Fenelon

When I am sore beset...

When I am sore beset,
I seek some quiet place,
Some lonely room or barren windswept hill,
And there in silence wait apart
Until I see again the smile upon God’s face;
Until His presence floods me like the dawn,
And I can hear His whispered,
Peace, be still,
And know the strength to do His will.
I turn to take my load and find it gone.

Peace with God is of greater value than peace with men...

Satan knows that he can undermine the structure of the church by slyly removing just one fundamental doctrine at a time. He frequently loosens a large foundation gradually, chiseling it away bit by bit. That is why tolerance for the sake of peace may be dangerous. One step by giving in will lead to a next step, and will not God visit us with blindness if we deliberately darken the truth He has graciously entrusted to us. How shall we justify ourselves if we permit even a little of the truth to be laid aside? Is that ours to do? When peace is injurious to the truth, peace must give way. Peace with God is of greater value than peace with men. ...Abraham Kuyper image by mx.
