The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress...

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
    he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Mohler: A most tragic turning point...The assassination of Charlie Kirk and the call of a generation  Not long thereafter, Charlie embraced two things that had been missing from his earlier approach. He openly and boldly claimed the gospel of Christ and courageously identified himself as a Christian believer. He also began to argue with consistency that a recovery of Christian truth was essential for a lasting conservatism. He was right.

The Day the Masks Came Off: What Charlie Kirk’s Murder Reveals About the Left  For years, conservatives have described liberals as misguided, wrong, or naïve. We thought they were mistaken but basically well-intentioned. Liberals, on the other hand, increasingly painted conservatives as evil — racist, fascist, subhuman. That imbalance shaped our politics: one side wanted to persuade, the other side wanted to destroy.
But with Charlie Kirk’s murder, that asymmetry collapsed. Conservatives watched in real time as prominent voices on the Left celebrated the death of a man they despised. The mask of “tolerance” slipped, and underneath was malice. Today, conservatives are saying what we once resisted: they are not just wrong. They are evil.

Ramifications of Charlie Kirk Assassination Could Be Huge: Martin Luther King Size What do you suppose is the number one topic on campus right now? (Well, except for the usual sports, dating, etc.) Think how many millions of students are now hearing about Charlie Kirk and his organization for the first time, about what happened to him and why? How do you think they will react when their professors start to recite the same old “progressive” palaver?

The Left Has Never Been Held Accountable For Political Violence — And That Must Change If that seems like a bleak future for American politics, well, that’s because watching one of America’s most promising young leaders die in front of our eyes is pretty damn bleak. We survived a civil war, and I pray for everyone involved in American politics that understanding and forgiveness will once again be this country’s guiding lights. But I am also reminded that there are times when vengeance is necessary and just, and millions of Americans will not stand for Kirk’s death to be in vain.

We are up against people who want to kill us. Not just Trump or Charlie Kirk. All of us.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”...

BREAKING: Suspect Taken Into Custody in Charlie Kirk Assassination Has been Released After Interrogation: KASH PATEL  FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that the subject taken into custody in the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk just a couple of hours ago has been released.
Charlie Kirk’s assassin is still on the loose.

Remembering Charlie Kirk, Founder of Turning Point USA...He challenged a generation to seek Christ, love America, and speak boldly. Kirk emerged as a leading conservative activist when, at only 18, he launched Turning Point USA, a group dedicated to spreading conservative and biblical principles on high school and college campuses. Over the next decade, he grew the organization into a national force and became a familiar voice in political debates. He also authored several books and was willing to dialogue with those with whom he disagreed, such as in March when he interviewed California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, and two months later when he appeared on the podcast of Bill Maher, a skeptic of Christianity.
He was open about his Christian faith, tweeting over the weekend, "Jesus defeated death so you can live." Image

“I am the true vine..."

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  -John 15:1-5

A Tragedy Worse Than Epstein’s Island, But With Less Paperwork   The comparison to Epstein isn't just spicy rhetoric; it's excruciatingly apt. Epstein ran a secret operation, while Biden's team built a public pipeline that delivered kids to predators on an industrial scale. Epstein's crimes were vile, but they were limited to his creepy island and a few mansions. Biden's policies turned the entire U.S. border into a child-trafficking superhighway.

-----------------"We have sinned"------------------

Christians often will do individual confession of sin, or will pray for the sins of others, asking God to judge their evil. But a third scenario is when a godly person asks God to forgive a sinful people or nation, but he also includes himself in the mix.
I just read another example of this today with the prayer of Daniel for his people as found in Daniel 9:3-19. The first three verses go like this:
Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, “O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Of interest is how often we find Daniel using the words “us” and “we” and “our” in these 17 verses. He is not pointing the finger at ‘them’ but at everyone, himself included. That is real humility. That is real identification with the people. That is having a godly heart and a willingness to fully relate to the people.  Read it all...  Image

It’s sad, but what happens to Britain is not up to us. It’s up to the British. But what is up to us is what we do here in our own country. And what we must do now is double down on being citizens instead of subjects. Speak freely and forthrightly. Demand every single right to which you were endowed by our Creator. Reject the dual-track justice system and anarcho-tyranny that the Democrats would impose. But, most of all, make sure you have laid the foundation requirement for freedom – buy guns and ammunition.

The Left-RIght Divide on Family Creation Matches the Divide on Mental Health  So, again, it seems like progressivism, depression and having fewer children are all correlated together in some way. One way to put this is that progressives are more likely to be depressed and depressed people are less likely to have kids. By contrast, conservatism, better mental health and wanting a family also seem correlated. Given that these factors seem to be significantly impacting the life-choices of teens and young people, it probably ought to generate more discussion than it does.

Blessed is the man...

Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
    nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

 He is like a tree
    planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
    nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
-Psalm 1

---------------Iryna Zarutska-------------

The Unspeakable Evil Progressives Have Unleashed Strikes in Charlotte  Zarutska's was a real life that wasn't important enough, no matter how horrific her passing, because it would hurt the narrative, the carefully constructed narrative.
If you weren't from the local area, did any of you hear about it?
I never had until yesterday, and that is only because the security video from that fateful few minutes on the CATS light rail car came bursting into public consciousness. Shamefully, only after members of the Charlotte City Council intervened personally in an attempt to block release of the ghastly footage and were foiled.

The Image That Killed the Democrats in 2026 and Beyond It gets worse for Democrats: The victim was not only young, female, and stunning, but she was a refugee from Ukraine — one of their fetish victims.

Charlotte’s Mayor Vi Lyles’ response to this senseless killing revealed the disturbing direction of modern Democratic leadership. Instead of naming Zarutska or condemning the act outright, Lyles chose to focus on the suspect’s supposed mental health struggles and homelessness, cautioning against demonizing the homeless. She framed homelessness and mental illness as public health issues requiring "compassion and treatment," while asserting that the city’s transit system remains "mostly safe."
This kind of gutless political correctness, where the needs of innocent victims are swept under the rug for the sake of compassion and empathy for the perpetrators is exactly why crime has soared in blue cities, and why Americans feel increasingly unsafe.

Journalists do whatever the narrative requires at the moment, but does it still work?

Earlier this year, medical researchers from the University of Texas published the results of a bombshell study documenting the mental health impact of so-called “gender-affirming” surgery.  The study included nearly 110,000 male and female patients who were eighteen or older and diagnosed with gender dysphoria.  Among those patients observed, some underwent surgery, and some did not.
The results were clear: Two years after surgery, those who “transitioned” had “significantly higher” rates of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation.  This was true for both males and females.

An Uproar Over Facts...Canadian experts reported accurate information about ‘gender-affirming’ therapies. Naturally, everyone is furious.  From 2021 to early 2025, Guyatt and his research collaborators systematically reviewed the evidence as to whether various “gender-affirming” interventions actually deliver psychological, psychiatric, or physical benefits to gender-distressed children and youth; and whether such benefits outweigh the attendant risks. It’s a classic application of the evidence-based methodology that Guyatt has championed for decades. Spoiler alert: As anyone who’s followed this issue in recent years might have predicted, Guyatt’s team, led by McMaster Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact scholar Romina Brignardello-Petersen, found that the available medical evidence supporting transition therapies is generally of low quality.

How Phonics Instruction Helped Indiana Kids Read Better Than Many Adults The dispute over these fundamentally different tactics is at the heart of the long-fought “reading wars.” On one side, the whole-language model assumes that learning to read is as natural a process as learning to talk, and prompts children to see and memorize words in context. Phonics-based education argues that reading is a skill to be learned, and that initially breaking words down into their parts and sounds will allow children to read proficiently.

Some believers have a fully separatist view of the world they live in, wanting nothing to do with it – at least things like politics, government and the like. Thankfully most of God’s faithful people did not share such a few. Three obvious Old Testament characters fully make this case.

-Moses served in pagan Egypt and thus served the purposes of God.
-Joseph served in pagan Egypt and thus served the purposes of God.
-And here we find the same with Daniel. He served in pagan Babylon, along with his three friends, and God used them mightily to bring about his purposes and plans.

All this is borne out by the instructions God had given to Jeremiah: “But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare” (Jer. 29:7). In this case it was also Babylon, and the prophet made this instruction to the exiles there in a letter he had sent them. Read it all...  Image   Daniel 4

Rise with the Sun...

Rise with the Sun
CityAlight

Verse 1:
There’s a song that’s sung through the nations
Of joyful thanks to the king,
Where the countless saints who are rescued
Praise Jesus who set them all free

Verse 2:
Hear the anthem sung in the islands
Where sun first touches the earth,
Over land and sea it advances
Now joined by the saints of this church

Chorus:
Rise with the sun
Lift up his name
All through the earth
We sing out his praise
East to the west
Night to the day
Join in the song
And sing out his praise

Verse 3:
I will add my voice to the chorus
Of many people and tongues,
For we share the gift of salvation
And share in the life yet to come

Chorus

Bridge:
And the church will sing
Tambu (Fijian)
Heilig (German)
Oli (Australian Creole)
are you Lord
You’re the lamb who was slain,
We lift up your name

And the church will sing
Shèngjié (Mandarin)
Santo (Spanish)
Kadosh (Hebrew)
are you Lord
You’re the king who was raised,
We lift up your name

We will always sing
Holy, holy, holy are you Lord
Now you reign evermore,
We lift up your name
Over all of the world,
We lift up your name

How the police became the goon squad of trans activists   As a result of the hand-in-glove relationship between Stonewall and the College of Policing, every officer that has graduated in the past decade has been told that it is their duty to fight an alleged epidemic of transphobic hate crime. They’ve sat in classes lectured by trans activists, who’ve told them heart-wrenching tales of their personal suffering. Myths peddled by the trans lobby are presented as facts – such as that trans people, particularly children, are being driven to suicide by an atmosphere of bigotry.

It appears that more than a few of the best people now believe that the wrong sort of Irish people are putting up Irish flags in Ireland, and that this is being done as anti-migrant “hate speech” directed against fragile foreigners. As night follows day, there will soon be an investigation led by the Gardaí (the Irish police) and then debated by the Dublin City Council. And eventually, a proposal will be made to make it illegal for Irish people to put up Irish flags in Ireland. It is possible that such a proposal might be enacted, and it is also possible, perhaps likely, that such a policy will be upheld by the Irish courts.

As a nation we are still reaping the consequences of a terrible string of Supreme Court decisions from the 1960s, and 80s. They ruled against school prayer, Bible reading at school (as devotional), creation being allowed to be taught, even the Ten Commandments (with its famous line: “Thou shalt not murder”) were disallowed at school. It’s as if the left, through their surrogates on the High Court went out of their way to build a firewall against the children in the schools learning anything about God. And now we’re reaping the consequences.
As Os Guinness, the great Christian thinker and author, postulates in his book, A Free People’s Suicide: “One cannot point to a free and lasting civilization anywhere in history that was built on atheistic foundations.” Ultimately, America’s only two true options are: Revival or Ruin. Read it all...

Prayer Works, According to Science...The Wider Implications for an Individual and Society  The role of prayer in civil society has emerged in the wake of the Annunciation Catholic School shooting, and this may be a blessing of sorts amidst the tragedy.
This is because scientific research has shown time and again that religious faith and the practice of prayer check pathologies and improve quality of life on almost every level.

Transgender terrorism, spiritual sickness, and the Catholic school shooting Vice President JD Vance’s response summed it up best. “It is shocking to me that so many left wing politicians attack the idea of prayer in response to a tragedy,” he wrote. “Literally no one thinks prayer is a substitute for action. We pray because our hearts are broken and we believe that God is listening.” Progressives, it seems, do not. As Christians across America mourned and the devastated parents of the Annunciation Catholic School buried their dead children, many progressives scorned their prayers, echoing the sentiments of the shooter: “Where is your God?”

Saving Democracy...What does Britain's collapse teach us?   One answer is our ruling class monoculture. The political classes not only of the United States, but of pretty much every Western nation, have been all-in in favor of immigration and have basically colluded to ignore what the “white trash” — to use British Labour politician Dennis Jones’s term for the working-class girls who were victims of the Pakistani rape gangs — thinks about things. Having decided, conveniently, that anyone opposed to their agenda is racist and evil, they’ve found it easy to ignore the public’s reluctance to be robbed and raped.

Devaluing human life turns hashtags and deplatforming to bullets and bombs

It must stop now. America has a generation of young people struggling with identity, spiritual disturbances, and the deceptions of the digital world. Westman fell for one of those deceptions, ruined himself, and then, like a character in a Russian novel, sought revenge on society through an act of pure evil.
Unless transgender ideology and its system of rewards and punishments is defeated, it will continue to catch troubled young men like Robin Westman in its web of delusion, and more innocent people will suffer. Now is the time to leave the ideology behind.

New Barna Data: Young Adults Lead a Resurgence in Church Attendance   The significant drop-off among older generations shows that the fabric of congregational life is changing. It’s more frayed and less gray than it was a decade ago,” notes David Kinnaman, CEO of Barna Group. “The influx of new generations represents a massive opportunity for congregational leaders, but this renewed interest must be stewarded well.”
“Our research clearly shows that churchgoing alone does not in itself create devoted disciples. Even with the increasing participation of younger generations, there is still the challenge of shaping hearts and minds to live out their faith beyond church participation,” adds Kinnaman.

He maintains that a group of volunteers verifies the identities through an additional process before posting any names online. While he doesn’t believe the ICE List endangers officers, as it only includes names and not personal information like addresses, he does acknowledge that a name alone could lead to the discovery of an officer’s personal data.

---------------Faith takes-----------

In a world where language and speech are often abused; where “misinformation” is passed on as lies, and truth is condemned as misinformation; it is especially important that we offer a better word. And that we take on board the many teachings in Scripture about how, where and when we speak. Can we not learn to disagree well? Those of us who are conflict averse need to be careful that we are not afraid to speak directly rather than engage in indirect speech (gossip). Those of us who seem to be conflict-driven need to repent of our aggressive speech and learn to follow the One who spoke strongly but was also gentle.
It’s a minefield for speaker/writer and hearer/reader alike. But one we have to traverse. We need to bear in mind the ninth commandment and the fact that those who “love and practice falsehood” are outside the city (Rev.21v15). Perhaps every time we write, or engage in a significant conversation, we should pray – “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer” (Ps.19v14).

--------------Death cults--------------

Canada spearheads the global death cult  A nation with endless land and limitless potential is busying itself not with building a future but with perfecting the art of ending lives early and monetising the process. Canada could be the model of resilience, resourcefulness and growth. Instead, it is shaping up to be the poster child of a world where human beings are expendable and profit is paramount.

It is a key issue about the relation between the doctor and the patient. If assisted suicide becomes an option then many clinicians will stop looking for what else can be done to help a patient in distress.  There is a great difficulty in accurate diagnosis and prognosis. People may be at ‘end stage’ but survive for many more years.  Professor Taubert recalled that he had also seen patients completely misdiagnosed with a terminal condition ( including cancer) that was not the case.

Let’s not kid ourselves—this was never about fraud. It was about politics. Letitia James campaigned on “getting Trump.” She didn’t run on cleaning up Albany corruption or making New York a safer place to live. She ran on a vendetta. She promised to use her office to pursue one man and one man only, because her party feared he was the one obstacle to their hold on power.
And Judge Engoron? He was her willing executioner.

Breaking Texas: Georgetown Islamic Center’s Expansion Builds Sharia Enclave, Raising Children From Cradle to Imam to Pipeline Mosque Leaders Nationwide (Video) This “rapid growth” is not accidental. The United States continues to admit large numbers of Muslim immigrants and refugees each year, while higher birth rates within Muslim families accelerate expansion. The result is a built-in demographic engine that fuels demand for larger mosques, schools, and Islamic institutions.
This was no longer about local prayer needs. It was about creating permanence: a seminary, a marketplace, youth facilities, and a leadership pipeline — all justified as sadaqah jariyah (eternal investment in Islam).

Global fertility decline sparks debate over future policy, as UK birth rates drop to unprecedented levels     The pressures being felt across the world are causing many governments to introduce measures to encourage parenthood – from subsidies in China to generous parental leave and child benefits in Europe – but Pew notes the evidence that such policies lift fertility is limited.

Thunderstruck on the Prairie: How Science and Sound Are Saving Cattle  Researchers from the USDA are patrolling prairie skies with drones, armed with speakers, playing everything from Angus Young's guitar riffs to Scarlett Johansson's screaming match with Adam Driver in the movie Marriage Story.
It's easy to visualize being a wolf, so close to dinner, when out of nowhere, a flying box begins blasting a Hollywood divorce drama at 120 decibels.

---------------AI-------------

Let Me Google that For You...The AI threat to our humanity no one's talking about  While it is clear, then, that AI can be designed and used for good, I do worry that even its best, most productivity-boosting, most labor-saving uses may, if we are not careful, come at a very steep price. Can we design AI in a way that serves us without forgetting, in the process, how to serve one another?

A Single Typo in Your Medical Records Can Make Your AI Doctor Go Dangerously Haywire  That's what MIT researchers found in a June study currently awaiting peer review...

--------------Faith takes-------------

Whenever The World Mocks Prayer, Christians Should Pray Twice As Hard After tragedies such as we saw this past week, it’s become increasingly fashionable for people to say, “Now is not the time for prayer – it is the time for action!” To that I would say this: prayer is the highest form of Christian action and whenever the world discourages prayer, the Christian should pray twice as hard!
Pray without ceasing! Pray that God would bring comfort and healing to our grieving neighbors, that he would bring us to repentance and deliver us from evil in all its forms, and that he would put the devil to flight through the preaching of his Word. Finally, pray that God’s name be hallowed and His divine will be done, that those who consider themselves our earthly enemies would instead become our brothers and sisters through saving faith in Jesus Christ.
